Early last week, I had the privilege of attending Lancôme Hypnôse Precious Cells Mascara mini launch event, many thanks to Sharon's extended invitation. I was super excited about this event, as I'm very much a self-confessed mascara addict! And, Lancôme mascaras never fail to impress (at least to me).

The primary focus was on Lancôme Hypnôse Precious Cells Mascara, while we had the chance to try out Lancôme Ombre Absolue Impact 3D Eyeshadow Palette range.

Contrary to belief, Lancôme's eyeshadow palette are judged as the boring neutral and smokey colors. That's not exactly true. I've the Lancôme Color Focus Palette 4 Ombres in 100 OZ which was a favorite of mine years back.

I'll try to find it and take a photo of it. Time to re-organize my makeup stash! :x

The eyeshadows are on the sheer side, which I think an eye primer is essential to bring out the colors (if you prefer stronger vibrant colors). I particularly like the liner shade which is a pretty dark blue with micro-shimmers.

A30 Papillon Violette

This is a gorgeous purple palette! I like the violet color (right in the middle) as well as the liner shade (dark purple with micro-shimmers).

 

OTHER COLORS!

I also noticed that the liner shades for the new colors are more smooth in texture whereas the "not-so-new" ones are more powdery (with the exception of green one).

My favorites? Purple-Green-Blue!

On the event day itself, I did try out the Lancôme Hypnôse Precious Cells Mascara in a haste.

I applied 2 coats of mascara on my top lashes, without curling 'em prior the application. The mascara does help to curl and lengthen my lashes naturally.

My lashes are not THAT volumized as seen from the photos above. It is a true black mascara which I really like (based on 1st impression).

 

 

My 2nd time using the mascara. This time, I applied 3 coats and curled my lashes prior application.

I place the brush on my lash fringe, slowly wriggling upwards and outwards for "fanned out" lashes. This zig-zag motion can help to deposit more mascara on your lashes and separate 'em beautifully. To help the curls hold better, stop the brush at the tip of lash for few secs when doing the zig-zag motion.

I find that it is good for defining the bottom lashes.

It is very easy to remove. Just warm water will do!

 

LIKES:

• long-lasting & smudge-resistant
• lengthens & defines lashes well
• true black color
• easy to remove
• dries fast and doesn't flake
• no weird scent

 

DISLIKES:

• slightly clumpy
• the bristles are kinda pokey on the eyes

 

IMO, it's great at lengthening and defining the lashes effortlessly. Good for day use. If you love natural-looking lashes, this is definitely THE ONE.

If you love fuller dramatic lashes, this doesn't cut it. Well, a lash primer might just do the trick.

First and foremost, I wasn't invited to this event. I tagged along with Chantana as she could bring along a friend. Just to make things clear. Well, I'm not those who love to declare that they're exclusively invited when they're clearly not. Anyway, I was quite baffled by the fact that this was actually a "Thank You" Bloggers Event. At least 5 were Viccal fans (there to know Viccal better). AND they could bring along a friend. Okay, I've nothing against Viccal. Hmm.. It kinda defeats the purpose of saying that it was an event to thank bloggers? My honest opinions. Just my two cents worth. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the event along with the few bloggers who attended. Thanks Viccal.

The event was held @A Curious Teepee, the same place where Maybelline's event was held @.

Vicky shared with us Viccal philosophy and her own personal beliefs. She believes in using mineral makeup as they're more skin-loving. One of her favorite drugstore brand is La Roche-Posay, which the products do work wonders minus the hefty price tag of counter skincare brands.

Food time. Mini egg and chicken sandwiches. Tasted pretty good.

The sour-taste Long Black. Eeks. 'Nuff said.

Then it was a makeup demo by Francis from GloMinerals. Model was Vivian. A day-to-night makeup transformation that is.

Loose Base in Golden Light. For warm skin tone.

Has a really fine texture, which blends really well onto the skin.

The lighting was pretty yellowish as depicted in the photo.

Late dinner was settled at Tampopo (Liang Court). Lucky it closes at 1030pm.

Taken with iPhone. Not too bad huh.

122 LIU is more of a cool pinkish (strong) red. Think strawberry. The yellow lighting does distort the true color to an extent >.< It has a nice-smelling rose scent which doesn't lingers. The lippy feels extremely lightweight and moisturizing on my lips. Feels so comfy! This reminds me of the MUFE lipstick I've. Of coz Guerlain's looks/feels much more moisturizing than MUFE's. All in all, I love Guerlain's lippies!

Oh.. I got this pretty fuschia pink bracelet after a lip consultation (which I did "my own consultation" afterall xD). And, it led me to purchasing "my surname" lippy!

The salesgirl was nice enough to give me makeup samples. I wanted to try the liquid foundation but she said don't have -.-

Okay la. I've this to try - Guerlain Parure Pearly White The New Compact Foundation. Enough for 1-time application I think. Hmm......

Flawless just got easier with Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream!

We were given this cute badge as well, which I promptly pinned on my camera casing.

The old packaging vs the new packaging. 02 Natural is specially brought in to S'pore to cater to ladies with darker skin tones eg. my sis (MAC NC45) :x But then again, I don't think it's suitable for really dark skintones coz 02 Natural looks kinda fair on her.

My hand's skintone is darker than my face. 02 Natural blends seamlessly on my hand but actually the Fresh shade is the better match for my face.

It looks kinda ashy on my hand but in fact, it really gives me an almost flawless finish on my face!

I forgot what is this called but I do remember it tasted pretty good.

He was given the challenge of completing basic makeup look (BB Cream, Face Powder, Liquid Eyeliner) within 3mins! I guess most ladies will literally gasp at the limited time given. It was almost Mission Impossible as most ladies will take at least 10-15mins for basic makeup.

He was explaining the steps and products used while doing the makeup. It was clearly not an easy feat.

And so, we were split into groups for the makeup challenge. The group, which has the shortest average time taken to finish their makeup wins. Each will get $100 Topshop vouchers. Jones, Chantana and my sis didn't join -.- Anyway, my group which consisted of 3 persons didn't win since other groups had at least 4 participating. More people in the group will win actually, coz it's based on average. Bye-bye to Topshop voucher...... >.<

On average, we spent 3.5mins completing our basic makeup. Not bad eh. Fast & furious! (x

 

In the meantime, we had uber fun camwhoring!

The galore of makeup we got to play with, after the makeup demo!

I didn't take photos of every step, or rather I delete those super unclear ones. But I'll go through the steps in words form (:

• KATE Lasting High Coverage Powder Foundation, to smooth out her skin tone. She's got really good complexion btw.
• KATE Designing Eyebrow N, to fill her brows.
• KATE Dual Blend Eyeshadow, for eye makeup. Tip: Mix the light and deep color to get a new color.
• KATE Super Sharp Liner, to line the eyes with precision. The finished look is a slight winged eye look.
• KATE Long Gel Mascara, to define and lengthen her lashes.
• KATE High Coverage Pressed Powder UV, to set the makeup.
• KATE Cheek Color S, to define the cheeks.
• Brush on lightest foundation shade as highlighter (T-zone, above and below cheeks, chin).
• To contour, brush on darkest foundation shade across sides of jaws.
• For a pretty pout look, use a light foundation shade along the lip contour. Lastly, add a hint of shimmer on the cupid bow.

Last Sunday, I attended CLEO (PUPA) makeup session by the renowned Celebrity Makeup Artist, Andy Lee. I had registered for this event through sms, and received an email from CLEO that I was able to attend. It wasn't a private event and those who happened to be shopping at The Heerens, were able to enjoy this makeup session as well.

After the makeup session ended, it was time for yummy makeup food hahas xD There was a CLEO goodie bag as well as a PUPA black eyeliner given to us. I didn't buy any makeup in the end though there was 10% discount promotion going on. Too crowded at the makeup counter and there were only a few PUPA assistants. Since nobody attended to me, I might as well buy on another day right (;

Throughout the event, we got to test out some of PUPA makeup products.

This is how PUPA Smoothing Foundation Primer 01 Transparent looks like. The texture feels pretty similar to Sephora Smoothing Primer, and the skin feels really smooth after application. According to Andy Lee, the primer acts as a stocking for our skin so that our skin looks smooth and flawless. He advocates against using too much foundation due to Singapore's hot & humid weather. It is not a pretty sight to see our makeup "crack" and melt, yes ? Makeup base/primer is best recommended to correct the imperfections, with minimal use of foundation.

PUPA Luminys Baked Blush. Swatches of some of the colors. Pretty right ? The color pigmentation is pretty good I would say. I especially like the rose shade in the middle.

Andy Lee shared a makeup tip on how to apply blusher. His tip is different from Niu Er's. Firstly, use a brush sweep flat on the blush to pick up the color gently. Place brush flat on face and sweep the color on the cheeks gently. This way, the color is distributed evenly on the cheeks, imparting a natural flush.

PUPA Luminys Baked Eyeshadow. This is my favourite, followed by the blush. The brown swatch on the left was applied wet, see the intensity & pearlescent effect ! The light pink swatch is super gorgeous, yes ?

This is me, with minimal makeup after more than 6 hours. Looking alright, yes ? Anyway, I pat on Bio-essence Bio Platinum BB Cream, followed by Kevin Beautymaker Tranexamic Acid Whitening Pressed Powder no.3 Natural. I lightly brushed on Shu Uemura Glow On Blush P Peach 40. ZA Plumper Lips 01 Ruby Dazzle on my lips (I touched up for this only).

For eye makeup, no eyeshadow, just Stage Broadway Brown eyeliner and L'oreal Black Voluminous Waterproof Mascara. Reviews on some of these makeup products will be up soon (;

this unagi penne is drool-worthy ! simple but it's sooo good i tell you. but the serving is kinda small :s

this salmon pasta is too salty, for my liking. the pink sauce is quite special though.

ooo the dark chocolate drink is thick, sweet, smooth creamy. very niceee if you like chocolatey stuff :3

ooo the marshmallow coffee also very nice ( it seemed that everything is so nice eh) ! i feel that if the marshmallows are in bite-sized, this drink will be perfect ? heh :p~

we gotta decorate cupcakes ! this is my lil' cupcake ♥ quite a messy affair~
