My 1st LOTD of 2012 - Smoky Eyes. My favorite kind of look; "VERY ME"!

Had a light makeover after Clarins Skin Time... A mix of Instant Light Complexion Perfector 00 Rose Shimmer & liquid foundation (not sure which range though =.=)... To set the makeup, the BA brushed on Loose Powder 01 Translucent. I touched up a lil', using Lioele Real Crystal Twin Cake 02.

Using Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen, I tightlined the upper lashline and extend beyond the lashline. The liner is slightly thicker for my right eye, to balance my uneven eyes. For the lower lashline, I only lined 1/3 of the outer corner and extend beyond the lashline. Make sure that the extended lines meet at the ends.

I applied the darker taupe shade (KATE Deep Eyes GY-1) on the outer-V, then the light pale peach shade on the inner corners (upper and lower lashlines) and the lighter taupe shade at the middle area. Next, I applied the black shade over the lined area (upper and lower lashlines), more on the outer-V.

To highlight the brow bone, I applied P Pink 103 (Shu Uemura Make Up Color Palette The Basic) using a fluffy brush. Use the same brush to blend out harsh lines. For the cheeks, I brushed on P Amber 87 from the same palette.

This is one of my absolute favorites, KATE Deep Eyes GY-1.

I'm not sure if you can still find this in stores, as it is not a new collection.

I use all the shades except gunmetal gray, for this look.

Another new favorite black eyeliner - Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen.

I got it from ASOS.com, and it's cheap (I got it in a set).

On its own, it retails for £4.00.

The black is pretty intense, and can be used on the waterline (with minimal fading after 3-4 hours).

As the focus of this LOTD is the eyes, I used a light color (Duwop Venom Gloss in Coral Tree) for the lips.

What's your Favorite Look?

Here's the smoky look I did, using DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette (featured HERE).

The close-up eye look, without mascara. I filled my brow gaps using Majolica Majorca Customize Sword Cut BR771.

No eye primer was used. I used deep chocolate brown (cream) from the DOT DOT palette (as the lid base), and layered on the darkest brown from Lavshuca Star Decoration Eyes BR-2. Then, I applied the medium brown (Lavshuca) on the eye contour, and dusted the gold shimmer shade (DOT DOT) over it.

Using the pearl white shimmer (DOT DOT) & the lightest brown (Lavshuca), I used 'em to highlight brow bone, inner corner of eye & dust some onto 1/3 of the inner lower lashline.

I lined about 1/3 of the outer lower lashline, using K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner (Black). Then, I layered on the darkest brown (Lavshuca). Using the same eyeliner, I lined the upper lashline and extended it beyond the lashline.

I curled my lashes and applied 3 layers of Cyber Colors Ex Volume Waterproof Mascara in Black (1 layer for my lower lashes).

YES, 3! I coat them fast enough, to avoid clumps. So, the key is to work your wand fast! (CLICK HERE for review)

Again, I used Maybelline Moisture Extreme 914 Iced Peach Tea for my lips.

Works well with the smoky look, no?

For my face, I used Sasa HD Perfect Foundation 02 Warm Ivory and Lioele Real Crystal Twin Cake 02. On my cheeks, Canmake Powder Cheeks in PW20. (Forgot to include Murad Skin Perfecting Primer - Matte Finish!)

In this post, I'll be sharing my thoughts on DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette from Beauty Bistro, and 100% Handmade Lashes (WC16) from Fleur Blossom.

 

DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette SGD$29.90

A mirrored compact kit with 6 ultra fine, reflective powder eyeshadow colours and 1 cream shade. This palette can easily take you from day-to-night with its wearable colors.

dark blue shimmer, silver grey shimmer, metallic light copper shimmer

(Note: The fallouts are due to my clumsy fingers.. =.=")

Comes with an eyeshadow brush and a sponge wand, which are pretty useful. The brush bristles are soft and non-scratchy. Doesn't shed easily.

pearl white shimmer, peppermint green shimmer, gold shimmer, deep chocolate brown (cream)

 

Swatch-Fest ♥

The reddish deep chocolate brown cream base (with bronze & gold micro-shimmers) can be layered on to get the desired intensity. The swatch shown in the image above is 3 layers. I will suggest using a powder eyeshadow over this cream base, to prevent smudges and creases.

The pearl white shimmer looks more like a cream color in the pan. When swatched, it is a true pearlescent white (perfect for highlighting).

This peppermint green shimmer is packed with peppermint green & grey micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

The gold shimmer feels more gritty; more prone to fall-outs. It has pink micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

The dark blue shimmer is the most pigmented of the lot, packed with blue & purple micro-shimmers, silver micro-glitter bits. My favorite ♥

The silver grey shimmer has purple & peppermint green micro-shimmers, silver micro-glitter bits.

The metallic light copper shimmer has pink micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

My face with Laneige Snow Crystal Dual Foundation SPF22PA+ in Deep Beige 33.

Lioele Real Crystal Twin Cake No.2 is used lightly to set the foundation.

• Fill brows with Bébé Poshé Sexy Brow Shaper.
• Apply Too-Faced Shadow Insurance prior eyeshadow application.
• Apply pearl white shimmer onto 1/2 of the inner upper eyelid area, then layer metallic light copper shimmer all over the eyelid area.
• Dust some gold shimmer onto the middle part of upper eyelid area for more dimension.
• Use pearl white shimmer to highlight brow bone, inner corner of eye & dust some onto 1/3 of the inner lower lashline.
• Apply peppermint green shimmer onto 2/3 of the outer lower lashline.
• Line the upper lashline thickly with a droopy winged look, using K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner (Black).
• Using the same eyeliner, draw "lashes" on the lower lashline.
• Layer dark blue shimmer over peppermint green shimmer shade.

To warm up my complexion, I brush on only the orange & brown shades from Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact 10 Sweet Biscuit.

On my lips - Bihada Ichizoku Gorgeous Lip Gloss (Pearl Beige).

The eyeshadows are well-pigmented, and the color stays true and intense all day long. Personally, I like that they aren't crazily shimmery or glittery; very wearable even in the day. I might do a smoky LOTD using this palette. Shall see how it goes (:

The lash bone is clear and thin. It doesn't lose its shape after removing it (gently) from the tray packaging. Some might find the length to be kinda long (10mm). Personally, I think the length is okay for me.

Really easy to apply, especially for someone like me who apply fake lashes once in a blue moon AND simply take forever to get the positioning right.

The lashes feel incredibly soft & comfy. I love how the lashes look on me - SUPER DOLLY!

(PS: I highly recommend y'all to get the Marie Beauty Clear Eye Cream (lash glue) as well. Pretty good in my opinion.)

After the Maybelline event, the 4 of us (Jones, Chantana, me & my sis) went shopping. Met a couple of OnSugarettes. Shopping @ Orchard is love! Well, didn't buy much stuff. Canmake's new duo blusher, new panties (lol), a pair of flats.. That's all I think.

 

Dinner time! We finally decided on Bao Today (Marina Square). Was thinking of having steamboat buffet initially >.<

We ordered not many items to share coz not very hungry? Fried prawn dumplings. Average taste.

Beancurd skin rolls. So-so.

My favorite 流沙包s (salted egg yolk custard buns)!

Har gau! These steamed prawn dumplings taste much better than the fried ones IMO.

These siew mai may look blah but actually taste pretty good!

Hmm.. I forgot the name (AGAIN I know).. It's Bamboo Glutinous Rice (Thanks Chantana for remembering :p) Ordered 2 to share.. YUMMIER than expected!! Think I was the only one not very keen on ordering this :x

Very tender chicken meat.. Love the super fragrant bits of the glutinous rice! A must-order apart from the custard buns.. Actually, most of the dim sums there are pretty good. Should try others next time. FYI, I prefer this outlet much much more than the 313 one. Satisfying dinner overall :D

 

We didn't stop eating after dinner.. coz I suggested Geláre for waffle ice cream! It's been ages since I had 'em. Used to go there every Tues without fail.

LOTD time ♥

It was a night of SUPER FULL makeup for me since I was gonna club with my friends. It had been quite awhile since I clubbed! AGE is definitely catching up on me. I no longer have the urge to club as frequently as before. Ahh.. I can't believe I'll be hitting my 30s in just a few years' time T^T

My OOTD. A flowy bling-bling top & MNG black fitted short skirt.

Dazzling shimmery eyes accompanied with pink flushed cheeks and nudey pink lips.

Sephora Perfection Primer, followed by Lancôme Teint Miracle Foundation PO-3. Coffret D'or Beauty Essence Pact to set the foundation. My cheeks -> Red Earth Cheeky Flirt (Foxy Lady) x Melliesh Cheek Color 02 Baby Peach. To highlight my face, I used MAC MSF (By Candlelight).

My eye makeup is achieved with Lunasol Nature Color Eyes in 01 Nature Blue, which I used in a LOTD last year. Prior using the eyeshadow palette, I used Benefit Stay Don't Stray to prime my eye area. On my entire eye area, I applied the shimmery light yellow color (Lunasol) and then the shimmery light mint color (Lunasol) on the lids. For upper and bottom lashline, I used the cool brown color (Lunasol) to define my eyes. As for the inner corners of my eyes, I used the shimmery light yellow color (Lunasol) again. Lioele Artist Auto Eyebrow #3 Grey Black for my brows. My trusty L'oreal SuperLiner (black) for my all-time favorite winged eye look ♥

And, I'm happy to announce I'd found another HG mascara combination (apart from my all-time favorite Kiss Me Heroine Make Long & Curl x Sasatinnie Super Dolly Powerful Curling Mascara combi). Do note that I've the habit to curl my lashes before using mascara, which I did in this case. I wasn't born with beautifully curled lashes (:

My lashes look UBER DOLLY-LIKE, yes-yes?? Super volumized, lengthened, black. NO-NO, I wasn't wearing fake lashes!

And so, my new HG mascara combination is:

Using my lousy iPhone camera function which simply can't take decent night photos, here are the few okay photos. No clubbing photos, ya know why =.=

Me and my friends wanted to go Butterfactory BUT it was FULL HOUSE :/ So, we went to a random bar to drink something 1st. Actually I wasn't too keen on clubbing that night. I just wanna laze at home as usual, watching random movies online. My 2 pretty friends wanted me to join 'em and I had to give 'em face. I'm one who easily gives in :s

And, I gotta know 2 new guy friends that night. AND again, I was the oldest among 'em. Thanks really ar. The 86s and 87s =.= Glad that it was truly a fun night afterall.

Hmm.. these chicken wings not nice at all :s I enjoyed eating the sweet crunchy celery and carrot sticks though.

They ordered Erdinger, one of my favorite beers.

Oh ya, we were at OverEasy. The guys had a friend working there, hence we had discount on our orders :p

My Strawberry Margarita which tasted not so bad BUT I still prefer Cafe Iguana's!

And so, after OverEasy, we headed to Shanghai Dolly. That was my 1st time. Had Martell on the rock, more beer, red bull vodka. Didn't drink-drank-drunk, thankfully. BUT KJ said I did doze off for 10mins...... which I had no idea at all. At least, I remembered mostly what happened. My friends were gone by then :x Uber happening night, I must say. I think I won't be clubbing for quite sometime? Till then ♥

And, the focus of this LOTD is my pimp-ed lashes of coz (as shown in the super close-up photo).

Notice the red bits? Well, the red was not super obvious kind coz I layered red mascara over Dolly Wink Volume Mascara.

I'm pretty sure that the red will be super obvious over Majolica Majorca Lash Bone White Fiber.

You must be wondering what red mascara I'm talking about, yes? I didn't get it when it was launched last year. I only got it this year and I just knew I had to get my hands on it. Btw it's limited edition, maybe that explains why?

A lil' review for now:

Red is definitely a unique color and not as widely-used as black or brown of coz. It is not easy to find a red mascara IMO. Correct me if I'm wrong. I was bent on getting this MJ mascara and the only place which still had stock was NAC Watsons. I bought it at full price, no discount whatsoever coz it's limited edition. There was about 2 or 3 left (can't remember) after I got mine. I love how the red makes my eyes 'POP'; more 'awake' somehow. My lashes do look kinda spidery due to the mascara fibers. BUT that doesn't really bother me much, since no one will stand THAT close enough to see that. The mascara fibers did add some length to my lashes and I ain't complaining :p Easy to remove as well, with cleansing oil of coz! I'll layer this on top of MJ Lash Bone White Fiber next time to see the RED effect. ♥x♥

I didn't use this coz I don't own it. After much deliberation, I decided not to get it. Maybe I'll change my mind if I spot a good buy? :p

For face, I used Dr Jart+ Most Moist Waterfuse BB Cream, with Sephora Perfection Primer as the highlighting makeup base. I love how the primer evens out my complexion, imparting a beautiful radiant shine on my face. It is also much easier to apply makeup and my makeup just last for practically the whole day. Yes, that's me after a long day (since morning). Notice I seldom didn't use concealer for quite awhile?

On my cheeks, is a lovely mix of Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek PK301 Peach Macaroon & PK303 Strawberry Macaroon. Yes, I caved in. Initially, I didn't wanna get 'em coz I think the colors are BLAH. After reading random blogs featuring these lovelies, I couldn't help but go "take a look" again. Well, I decided to get 'em after the MJ counter lady brushed the cheek color(s) on me. Thought of just getting just one at first. Hmm.. I couldn't decide so I got both :p AND then, I wanted to get OR302 Apricot Macaroon to complete the collection.. BUT it was OOS so I went on a quest looking for it. SO, did I manage to get it in the end? I'll let ya know in my Majolica Majorca Chapter 30: Sugary Trap collective haul entry :x

Umm.. pardon my messy brows. I used Lioele Artist Auto Eyebrow #3 Grey Black to fill my brows. I first applied Benefit Stay Don't Stray (the sample I got from my Benefit Haul), then Majolica Majorca Majolook EyeShadow Palette RS354 (light pink). I like the Benefit Stay Don't Stray coz my eye makeup stayed vibrant and there wasn't any creasing at all. So far so good.

On my lids, I applied L'oreal Chrome Intensity Aquadisiac (teal color). For bottom lashline, I used the purplish pink color from Majolica Majorca Majolook EyeShadow Palette RS354. Majolica Majorca Majolook EyeShadow Palette RS354 (medium pink) for the inner corners.

Dolly Wink Volume Mascara to pimp the lashes :p I used liquid eyeliner this time, L'oreal SuperLiner (black).

Oh yes, the lips! Melliesh Lip Gloss 02 Baby Doll ♥

Here's a not-dolly-at-all me to "brighten" up your day, perhaps? That's my usual naked lips btw.

For my eye makeup, I used a $2 eyeshadow I got from a shop at Nanairo (Liang Court). I went there with Chantana after the MAC Private Sale, and got myself several items. Shall blog about it soon :x

Here's the $2 eyeshadow I used.

My least favorite color will be the light blue one. When used, there wasn't any distinct difference between this and the blue-ish green one. White is my favorite coz it has a subtle shimmer; not overly shimmery/glittery kind. The dark blue isn't intense at all. Overall, the color payoff is decent. Using an eye primer will be good.

Swatched many layers. For just $2, I can't expect that much right?

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer was used prior layering the eyeshadow colors. For $2, I would say it's a rather decent eyeshadow.

Hmm.. I still crazy over "Secret Garden" though. I'd finished watching and it's seriously the best Korean drama I'd ever watched! Hyun Bin's acting skill is awesome! He's not just a pretty face :3 Watch it, and you'll get what I mean. You'll be so in love, like I do!

Other than the drinks, the food tasted great! The meals come with sides as well. We ordered different ones to try out. This is the squid dish, forgot the exact name :x

Braised pig's large intestines. Yummy!

Braised pork knuckles (boneless). Very fatty and sinful but taste oh-so-good! teehee~
