I haven't been doing much to my hair this year, as compared to last year. The last time I had my hair professionally colored was like 10 months ago... last year June!

2 days ago, I went for a last minute hair workshop at the new Goldwell (Kao) office. I was late... b'coz I mistook UE Square for United Square... Zzzzzz... blur me! The former is at Clemenceau Ave, whereas the latter is at Novena area.

The theme was "sweet" hair colors. What came to my mind immediately was... Japanese kawaii girls' soft and sweet kind of hair color... those we mostly see in Vivi, Popteens... I was more than happy when they actually mean "sweet" hair colors, which are inspired by confectionery... think macaroons in candy colors ♥

The session took about 5 ½ hours. I wanted pink and purple, something like Xiaxue's... but not the whole head of coz (I can't carry off the look...)! Due to time constraint, the hair stylist can only do warm tones on my hair. Hence, no candy hues for me >.<" unless my hair color is as light as Jone's...

Regardless, he did a fantastic job! Thanks Zac! :D

My hair crown is supposed to be the darkest (dark ruby red), gradually lighter at the hair ends. The pinks are "hidden" beneath the darker hair strands.

Red + Black; the power combi that gives off the evil vibe.

I use the shimmery pale peachy beige shade from KATE Deep Eyes GY-1 as the overall base color. Using Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Severe, I line the upper and lower lashline. Then, I apply the shimmery black plus shimmery gray shades from KATE Deep Eyes GY-1 over the lid area (without overlapping the lined area). I apply the same shades onto the outer 1/3 of the lower lashline, blending inwards. For a wide eye look, extend the eye colors beyond both the upper and lower lashlines.

Next, apply the shimmery taupe over the inner lid area (blending lightly over the eye contour). For the lashes, I apply K-Palette Real Lasting Volume Mascara 01 Jet Black for both my upper and lower lashes. Lastly, I use the 100% Handmade Lashes (WC16) from Fleur Blossom. The same ones I used in the LOTD HERE.

Instead of shading powder, I dust a dark red eyeshadow lightly onto the outer contours of nose.

On my lips, Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Severe again! As for cheeks, I brush on Illamasqua Blush (Kiss) lightly.

A gorgeous deep wine red.

I like the texture; creamy and soft. It doesn't tug the skin. It does take a bit of effort to apply on lips though. It's worth a mention that it isn't drying on my lips. The color payoff is great. Truly a bold color, for both eyes and lips. Well, I can see myself going out wearing this color someday (soon). Just my thoughts, since this is my 1st time using it.

CandyDoll is now available @ Watsons. Price range is $25.90 - $33.90 (correct me if I'm wrong). The product range is quite.. pathetic though.. Only lipglosses, lipsticks, mineral face powder.. That's about it.. -___-"

CandyDoll Mineral Face Powder in Crystal Pearl. The powder feels soft and finely-milled.

As seen from the pics, the powder has very fine shimmers. Heard alot of raves about this product. So I might get it eventually? FYI, there's a normal version with no shimmers.

I swatched CandyDoll Lipgloss in Macaroon Pink and Peach Orange. The top right corner swatch is CandyDoll Highlight - Cream Beige.

ZA launched a series of mascaras, eyeliners recently.

I only swatched the eyeliners. Seemed pretty normal to me. A rather intense black. Anyway, I think only the ZA liquid eyeliner is new. The others are repackaged? I know not.

Hmm.. I swatched this CandyDoll Lipstick but I'd no idea what shade is this.. Not stated on the tester.. Milky beige-orange kinda shade..

Celebrated ah mei's 22nd birthday @ Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck (Paragon) - 26.06.2011. Our 1st time dining there and it was an awesome "ducky" experience!

Crispy juicy peking duck skin dipped in sugar.. *drools*

Succulent pieces of nicely cut peking duck meat.. :d~

Traditionally served with mandarin pancakes and green onions, drizzled with tangy hoisin sauce.

Ordered assorted dim sum, the usual ones like custard paus, fried prawn dumplings, har gau, siew mai, char siew baked pastries, etc.

More peking duck meat! Imagine only 3 of us finishing the whole peking duck plus the dim sums! We can really eat uh.. :x

Scallop rice rolls.

The remaining duck meat stir-fried with my all-time-favorite ee fu mian. The total bill was a whopping $130ish!

Not a look I'll usually do.

For this look, I didn't use any eye primer. I applied SMH e/s (Protege) lightly on the eye area as the base color, then intensify the color more at the lid area. The burnish red effect at the outer crease area is created by layering SMH e/s (Bondage) on top. Blending is the key. The tinge of silverish color is SMH e/s (Electra-fied) just above the upper lash line. To define the eyes, I used Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner close to the upper lash line with a slight wing. For the bottom lashline, I used Sephora Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof (15 Purple).

To add some oomph to my eye lashes, I curled 'em using Koji eyelash curler no.73 before applying Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara. I layered on Fasio Hyper-Stay Mascara Magne-Plus Curl Volume to define the lashes.

It was my 2nd time @ Fika Swedish Café and Bistro for a beauty event.

Luckily Chantana know the way. It was a rather long walk from Bugis MRT station. And, we arrived at the same time as Elfaine.. :D

We were here to attend K-Palette EYES ON YOU Beauty Blogger Workshop! Excited much!

Japalang simply means a mixture of anything everything.

 

 

Now, on to the HIGHLIGHT of this event..

Before the makeup demo, Mariko-san was illustrating the 2 different looks that she would be doing on the model (Cool vs Kawaii).

She was doing the Cool Look on the right side of model's face.

Slight winged eye Cool vs Droopy puppy eye Kawaii.

FYI, she used different eyelashes for respective looks.

See the "bottom lashes"? They were actually drawn on! Using the award-winning K-Palette Real Lasting 24h Eyeliner! Prior to this event, I did try to draw "bottom lashes" for myself and actually like how it makes my eyes appear bigger. It does take some practice to draw naturally for sure.

As you can see from the photo, the eyelashes on the left Kawaii Look are fuller than the right Cool Look. Kawaii Look has more shimmers than colors.

To recreate the Cool & Kawaii looks:

COOL LOOK

Use K-Palette Real Lasting 24h Eyeliner (Black) to line the upper lashline (slight winged tip) and the bottom lashline. It is A MUST to line the inner rims of the eyes for that Cool Look. Not easy. I've tried this before and I think it look kinda weird on me.. *sigh* Must try again! Practice makes perfect!

To fill the brows, use the powder side of K-palette 2-Way Eyebrow Liner (Black). The liquid side is to define the brow tail. The Cool Look has a more prominent arch.

To complete the look, put on fake lashes and draw "bottom lashes" using K-Palette Real Lasting 24h Eyeliner (Black).

 

KAWAII LOOK

Use K-Palette Real Lasting 24h Eyeliner (Black) to line the upper lashline with a droopy tip (beyond the eye corner). Puppy eyes for that oh-so-innocent look.. :p

As for the bottom lashline, use K-Palette Real Lasting 24h Eyeliner (Brown) for a softer look. Line it all the way to meet the droopy tip. Fill up the area in-between with brown eyeshadow.

Fill the brows using K-palette 2-Way Eyebrow Liner. The brow arch is softer, to complement the puppy eyes.

To complete the look, put on fuller fake lashes and draw "bottom lashes" using K-Palette Real Lasting 24h Eyeliner (Black).

 

Note:

Do apply the eyeliner as close as possible to the upper lashline AND apply it on the inner lashline as well. This will actually help your eyes appear bigger and livelier!

Testing the K-palette 2-Way Eyebrow Liner 01 Chocolate Brown. The two lines are drawn using the liquid side, while the brown patch is the powder side. The brow powder has pretty micro-shimmers in it.

I had really light makeup on that day. Just Kanebo Freshel White C W Cream UV, K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner 24h (Natural Brown), KATE Eyebrow Color LB-1, eyeliner and blusher. Woke up late =.= No time for elaborate makeup. And, I was havin' a bad skin day.

Food finally arrived!

The cream of mushroom soup taste good though it's not served hot. The garlic bread stick is very salty.. :s

Chantana's rosemary grilled chicken. I totally regret not having this! Sooo niceee! The chicken meat is so juicy and tender yet the skin is crispy. *drool*

My pan fried dory fish. It doesn't taste fantastic, just okay. I didn't like the potatoes coz they taste sweet??

And, guess what? When I told Chantana I like the chicken more than the fish, she said she like the fish more...... We could have exchanged =.=

Bread butter pudding with vanilla ice cream. The sweetness was just right. A nice dessert to end the meal with.. :d~

It was an insightful event (very well-organized), where I got to learn various makeup techniques from the Japanese MUAs and get to know more about K-Palette (Japalang Pte Ltd). Am elated to have attended this event, many thanks to The Sample Store (as always) and K-Palette (Japalang Pte Ltd) for the invitation!

Do you know that Kanebo Freshel's Top Seller is BB Cream? Prior to the Bloggers' Event I attended, I already bought Kanebo Freshel White C W Cream UV from Watsons. Heard so much about it and I love trying BB Creams! Hence, the purchase. True enough, it didn't disappoint me.

To sum it up: This perfect BB cream work as an essence, emulsion, cream, sunscreen, and light makeup base.

Formulated with adhesive collagen for moisturizing effect and a fruit acid mixture for exfoliating and moisturizing care. This non-greasy moisturizing cream provides UV protection (SPF32-PA++) and covers dark spots. Effortlessly smooths into the skin for a quick finish, making it possible to complete morning care quickly with just this cream.

Here's a comparison between the Kanebo Freshel BB Creams. It's somewhat odd that the Moist Lift W Cream has a slightly lighter shade. I've yet to try this BB Cream which was provided by Kanebo Freshel (goodie bag), coz I'm pretty much obsessed with the White C W Cream UV one. This is the best-est BB Cream I've tried used so far. I've tried/used so many BB Creams under the influence of Kimoko's blog.

The texture of this Freshel White C W Cream UV is smooth and light-weight. Feels so comfortable on my skin! It offers adequate excellent coverage for my imperfections (spots, scars, dark circles, pores, etc). With that, I skip the use of concealer. The BB Cream evens out my skintone perfectly and my face is clearly more radiant (evident in the following photos below). I just need to lightly brush on some loose powder to set the makeup. There is no need to apply sunblock since it provides UV protection (SPF32-PA++). Saves time and fuss-free!

This BB Cream has slight yellow tones and IMO, it's more suitable for fair-medium skin tones (NC20/25). I find that I didn't blot as much when using this BB Cream. Overall, it gives me a dewy glowy finish which I loveee so much!

Okay, my following LOTD is similar to a LOTD I did previously (using different products though).
