I've incorporated SOTHYS [W.]™+ Brightening Preparative Lotion into my daily skincare routine (day & night) for 2 months. To test the efficacy of the product, I use it religiously for 2 weeks, then stop for 2 weeks (and so on).

A fuss-free (opaque) plastic cylindrical container.

A treatment lotion formulated with H2CR® Cosmeceutic Complex, [W.]™+ Complex and Prickly Pear Extract. Moisturizes, smooths, and imparts radiance to the complexion while preparing the skin for the following skincare.

How to use?

Apply with a cotton pad after cleansing and toning, onto face and neck (avoiding the eye contour).

The lotion is semi-opaque and has a very lightweight runny consistency. It melts into skin like a liquid, as it moisturizes and softens the skin. The pleasant soothing scent evokes a feeling of pure relaxation.

It doesn't feel greasy or sticky with aqua (water) being the main ingredient. It absorbs into the skin instantaneously, leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth to touch. My skin also looks slightly more radiant than before. So far, I'm liking this product as it does enhance the brightening and hydrating benefits of the skincare that I'm using. And, it doesn't cause me any skin irritations or breakouts.

Retails for $93 (200ml). A bottle can last for 2-3 months depending on your usage. If you want to maintain the results of your facial treatments, I'll recommend you to check out SOTHYS home care range.

Ace Intensive Whitening Lotion

• Refreshing and reactivate sebum mechanism
• Promote follow-up effective ingredient absorption

After cleansing, I pour an appropriate amount of Ace Intensive Whitening Lotion onto a cotton pad then pat it onto face. Alternatively, you can do without the cotton pad. This will help supply moisture and restart skin in a healthy, balanced condition.

The lotion has a pleasant floral scent (chamomillia recutitta flower extract). It has a really watery texture and gets absorbed so quickly into skin. No signs of sticky/greasy feel. No irritation as well. Very refreshing and soothing, in fact.

My skin is all ready to effectively absorb the "goodness" of the serum and hydrating fluid!

 

Ace Liposome Renewal Whitening Serum

• Ace patent renewal factor
• Liposome encapsulated transmission
• Reducing dark spots and pores

 

Ace Liposome Renewal Whitening Serum is to be applied BEFORE Ace Revitalizing Hydrating Fluid to recuperate the skin. 2-3 drops is enough for the face and neck.

It contains fragrance, which explains why the floral scent is a lil' stronger than that of the lotion.

The serum has a runny consistency and feels slightly slimy. I massage thoroughly with fingertips, which helps to improve the ability of absorption and skin firmness. True enough, it gets absorbed pretty easily into skin. Skin feels soft, smooth and supple albeit the initial slightly sticky feel. Fortunately, the stickiness doesn't linger for long. No irritation.

 

Ace Revitalizing Hydrating Fluid

• Skin revitalizing and brightening
• Anti-wrinkle and lifting
• Water keeping and moisturizing

 

The amount of Ace Revitalizing Hydrating Fluid I use on my face and neck, is as shown above. Comes with a spatula for hygiene purpose. After using the lotion (supply moisture) and serum (recuperate skin), I massage thoroughly with fingertips, which helps to improve the ability of absorption and skin firmness.

This has a different floral scent (punica granatum flower extract), and contains fragrance as well.

It has a refreshing lightweight gel texture, which gets absorbed super quickly and easily into the skin. It hydrates and moisturizes my skin pretty well. Skin feels rejuvenated and more radiant than before.

3 weeks is obviously not enough to gauge the effectiveness of the products (judging from the before & after pic). Well, I did notice that my complexion has become slightly brighter than before. Overall, I enjoy using these 3 products as they don't feel too rich (overwhelming) for my combination skin. And, I have not experience any adverse skin reaction so far.

I was sent the NEW Eucerin DermoPURIFYER products (Active Concentrate, Hydrating Care & Active Night Care) for review, in late October. I've used these for one month plus, and I'm all ready to give my say.

I like the idea of glass bottle, which makes it easy for me to see how much product is left. Besides, the glass is not the easily breakable kind (I dropped it twice!). And, don't you just love the pump dispenser? Very hygienic!

The refreshing serum is the enhancing care acne-prone skin. It absorbs quickly, gently dissolves cornified skin with lactic acid, improves the flow of sebum, regulates the skin’s functions, refines and clarifies the appearance of the skin. Together with the Eucerin DermoPURIFYER moisturizer, it gives a boosting effect to the fight all four factors of acne.

It has a strong scent which is uniquely Eucerin. The texture is light and is quite easily absorbed into the skin. Does feel slightly greasy on the skin (nothing serious btw).

I use 2 pumps for my whole face in the night, and 1 pump on affected area in the day. It isn't too rich for my skin. So far, my skin has no adverse reaction to it. And, it actually enhance the effect of the other 2 products.

 

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Hydrating Care 50ml

Very simple and clinical kind of packaging.

The light, oil- and perfume-free cream gel regulates the disrupted skin functions, provides the skin with moisture and gives a fresh, relaxed skin feel. The cream gel effectively reduces skin blemishes and prevents the formation of new ones. The result: a finer and clearer skin complexion – after only 3 weeks.

This lightweight moisturizer is pretty hydrating. Doesn't leave my skin feeling matte; well moisturized with no sticky feeling. Though it is fragrance-free, it has a scent to it.

It works well with the Active Concentrate and doesn't cause any irritation to my skin. When using both products, my skin doesn't feel overwhelmed. I like the fact that it manage to soothe and calm angry skin very effectively.

This doubles as a really awesome makeup base. It helps my makeup to last long, from day to night. My makeup still looks pretty fresh at the end of the day with minimal blotting needed (twice at most). 2-in-1!

 

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Night Care 50ml

Fuss-free squeeze tube packaging.

The light night care with the innovative Follicle Active System provides a continual supply of lactic acid during the night and dissolves cornified skin, which promotes better flow of sebum. The refreshing cream activates the skin’s own regenerative capability.

It has the same uniquely Eucerin scent, a lil' lighter though. A light cream-gel consistency. It absorbs into the skin super fast, with a rather matte finish (which I didn't really expect). I was expecting it to be rich and creamy like that of typical night creams. Leaves my skin feeling a lil' tight. Not exactly uncomfortable. I quite enjoy the mattified feel.

Like the Hydrating Care, it works well with the Active Concentrate. Helps improve the skin condition during the night. It is always nice to wake up with clearer regenerated skin.

To sum it up...

Using this NEW Eucerin DermoPURIFYER range, has definitely cleared up my complexion. Prevents further breakouts as well. My skin feels smooth and mattified with regular use.

In this post, I'm gonna talk about the Shills products I received from Beauty Bistro (Judy Lin Beauty Event). I use the Black Gel Deep Sebum Softener and Purifying Peel-Off Mask about 3-4 times a month. As for the Clarifying Toner, I've been diligently using it for about a month so far, as part of my skincare routine.

 

Black Gel Deep Sebum Softener

The runny gel-like product is not exactly clear as it contains bamboo charcoal powder. Together with papaya enzymes, they help to deep cleanse the problem skin.

I apply the gel onto my problem area (T-zone) and massage gently. Hmm.. I didn't experience any "hot sensation" though, which is said to help soften the sebum and blackheads stuck in the pores.

I leave it on for ~3 mins. By doing so, the gel will penetrate deep into pores and melt the dead keratin cells, dust and extra sebum. Yes, it does help in softening the skin for easy extraction (removal) of blackheads/whiteheads. That's about it. I didn't experience any irritation using the product. Remember to wash off.

Purifying Peel-Off Mask

This works and looks exactly like Kose Seikisho Mask White. Feels slightly tackier though.

Dry face before use. For dry skin conditions, apply toner to face before use.

I applied the mask uniformly, just the right thickness. Do not apply thinly as it won't be able to remove blackheads/whiteheads effectively. Avoid sensitive areas such as eyes, lips, eye brows and hairlines.

Allow 15-30 mins to dry and peel mask off from the bottom up slowly.

For me, it took ~20mins or so.

As usual, the peeling process does hurt a little. Notice the whiteheads on the peeled-off black mask? It also remove some of my fine facial hair as well.

Well, my skin was not that congested so the results ain't that spectacular. Try using on a congested strawberry nose and be amazed by the results! Tested and proven (;

It works just as well as Kose Seikisho Mask White (much expensive). Hmm.. Pore strips (think Leaders Clinic, Heal Pharm) still work better, which removes more blackheads and whiteheads.

Clarifying Toner

A oil-balancing formulation that emphasizes on moisturizing skin. Shake bottle well to activate the astringing molecules. Suitable for oily skin, combination skin or any skin type with rough pores.

I use this day & night after cleansing. It can be used after removing blackhead or acne extraction (pore astringent), and also to calm red & inflamed skin.

After shaking, the solution becomes cloudy. I like the refreshing menthol scent, which feels refreshing on the skin too. It works well to refine, minimize and tighten pores. Clarifies my skin and also helps in preventing breakouts. Good in controling sebum as well.

It reminds me of Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Powder Lotion. Overall, I like both. Basically, I like anything menthol/minty :D

Here's my reviews after using 'em for one week+...

Mineral Bubble Face Wash 160ml ($14.90)

"Cleanse your face with 'mineral moisture', with the unique & effective Mineral Bubble Face Wash. Specially blended with 3 exquisite and effective ingredients for your skin - amethyst, hyaluronic acid & bio energy fluid, it is enriched with moisture factors & mineral nutrients to cleanse and remove impurities, dirt & oil from pores. After wash, it would still continue to provide long lasting moisture to the skin. Regular use will polish away dull skin resulting in a smoother and more supple-looking dewy complexion.

Another instant-foaming face wash for me to try. I would say Mineral Bubble Face Wash is comparable to Bioré Marshmallow Whip Facial Wash I reviewed not long ago. Hmm.. I don't really like the soapy scent though.

The foam is not as fluffy and dense, more of a soapy feel (lil' watery). This doesn't matter to me as long it cleanses the skin well.

I'm enjoying the efficiency of using instant-foaming cleansers since no lathering is needed. The foam feels gentle on the skin. It cleanses my face without stripping the skin of its moisture. Have abandoned the thought of having squeaky clean skin after cleansing equates to fully cleansed skin. Now, I'm totally in love with my soft, smooth and hydrated skin after cleansing with Mineral Bubble Face Wash alone!

 

 

✰ Mineral Aqua Gel 150ml ($24.90)

"Uniquely removes cornified dead skin with amethyst for new & radiant skin. No colouring, no fragrance, this gentle formula is specially blended with amethyst, hyaluronic acid & bio energy fluid to help enhance the removal of dead, dry & rough skin, and promote skin rejuvenation. After removing the dead skin layers that form a barrier,your skin would be in a optimal condition to absorb skincare nutrients."

The consistency of Mineral Aqua Gel is like a watery gel. A lil' watery and it gets somewhat messy when applying it on my face. Besides using it for face, you can use this for other parts of your body.

I use it for my super dry cracked heel area, which gives you a better idea of how it works.

See the difference? Much more smoother looking, with just only one-time use. Impressive eh.

 

As for my face, I use about 3-4 times a week (though it can actually be used daily).

I apply 2 pumps of Mineral Aqua Gel on dry skin, using dry fingers. Then, I gently massage in circular motion for about a minute. The key is to massage gently as the gel will "disappear" into the skin if too much force is being used. That happened to my bro, who "complained" to me about having no white flakes appearing after massaging the product on his face. Well, he used too much force (lol)!

According to the press release, "the white flakes that appear are the dead skin cells being removed". In the past, I used to think this way. Then, I realized that this isn't the case. How can my dead skin cells be white (somemore sticky) right? Makes no sense. The dead skin cells are actually removed by the white flakes created. I hope you get what I mean?

The last step will be rinsing off the dead skin cells along with the white flakes, with water or facial cleanser. I prefer the latter as it gets rid of the sticky feel on my face. My face feels soft and smooth after use. Doesn't irritate my skin, which is definitely a plus! And, I notice my face becoming clearer and more luminous.

A cheaper alternative to Cure Aqua Gel (I bought it sometime ago), which retails for $42 *ouch!* Both are as effective. Mineral Aqua Gel is about half the price. You do the math.

 

 

Mineral Aqua Whitening Enhancer 150ml ($15.90)

My favorite out of the 3.

"This unique formula is specially blended with amethyst, tranexamic acid & hyaluronic acid to boost the hydration & whitening of skin & enhance the penetration of skincare products for full absorption. Regular use of Mineral Aqua Whitening Enhancer will provide skin with minerals for better skin rejuvenation & at the same time lighten complexions evenly for a fairer, radiant and youthful glow."

This smells really good, I likeee! Mineral Aqua Whitening Enhancer doesn't feel as sticky as Hada Labo, and is absorbed much faster into skin (after patting). The sticky feeling is minimal, which dissipates after awhile. My skin feels so well-hydrated. Am so lovin' the luminous glow on my face the morning after using this product. A great start to my day (:

I also notice that my overall complexion has lightened by a fair bit, more even-toned. Not only that, my acne scars are slowly "disappearing". Yay~ to that! Friends have been noticing and complimenting my good complexion. I take pride in taking good care of my skin and I'm glad that I've been using awesome products so far (be it sponsored or self-bought).

Early September, I received 's new advanced skin corrector Visionnaire and best-selling Genifique Youth Activator. Thanks Lancôme Singapore ♥

It is recommended to use both together, so as to see faster and better results.

Thereafter, I received this personalized letter from Miss Jamie Ong, Brand Manager of Lancôme.

At the same time, I had just finished the 15ml Visionnaire lab sample (received from the launch event). It was enough for about 6 weeks of use. Now, the question is Does it work (for me)?.

The serum texture is light-weight and non-greasy. Has a plant-based scent which is pleasant and soothing. The serum consistency is water-based which is suitable for my combination skin (oily on the outside, yet dehydrated on the inside). In fact, it is suitable for ALL skin types including sensitive skin.

I usually use 2-3 pumps for my face and neck (day & night). When I touched my skin after waiting (1-2min) for the serum to be absorbed into the skin, it feels soft and smooth without any sticky/greasy feeling. I could see an overall improvement in my complexion after using Visionnaire for barely a week (as shown on the left side of image above). There was slight peeling of the skin, which was actually a good sign that my skin was renewing itself day by day. Within a month, my acne scars had lightened by a fair bit. My pores were more refined. Fine lines were less visible.

Oh ya, I couldn't help but notice the rosy glow on my face. My skin just look so healthy! Luminous and even-toned skin (as shown on the right side of image above). It was such a nice feeling to wake up with good skin every single day. My skin stays matte longer than usual. Applying makeup is a breeze. When it comes to foundation, less IS more. My face looks so impeccably flawless after applying just one pump of Lancôme Teint Miracle Foundation. Yes, the results were THAT significant. Even more so when I stopped using it, and started trying out a drugstore brand's serum.

FYI, Visionnaire can be applied on the eye contour (which I did). The serum is that gentle. I find that it is pretty moisturizing yet (most importantly) doesn't cause any milia seeds.

Sounds promising? Yes, it IS indeed effective. Seeing IS believing. I AM impressed.

It was hard not to notice the fiery red packaging at Watsons stores. Very attention-seeking indeed (in a good way). This new Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion ($25.90) costs slightly higher than their best-selling Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Lotion ($22.90). Still an affordable anti-aging skincare product, I would say.

The texture of this Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion is slightly thicker as compared to Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Lotion. The color of the lotion is slightly cloudy yellowish.

How I apply?

After cleansing and toning, I pour 3 drops of Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion on palms and gently pat onto skin until thoroughly absorbed. Then my usual skincare follows.

My initial thoughts:

I kinda like this Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion. It feels slightly sticky at 1st, but the stickiness feeling is gone after 5 mins or so. Though it takes a fair bit of time for the lotion to be fully absorbed into skin, my skin feels really soft and supple after which.

Hmm.. So, what took me so long to post up this review?

This is the reason why I decided to stop using Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion and go back to basic skincare routine for the time being.

As seen from the photo, the red bump is considerably big. AND, this is just part of my horrible skin state (!!), which left me in a moody state for weeks. I was wondering what exactly cause my skin to react so drastically in just 2 days?

Is the Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion too rich for me? Is it due to my late nights? Is it due to my eating habits? Is it due to some other skincare ingredients etc?

Here's my slightly better skin condition, 1 week after facial treatment at SPA-lon.

My Review:

After using Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion for 1 week, I'm glad that my skin has not reacted adversely so far. In fact, I notice a slight improvement in the appearance of fine lines and firming of skin (as shown from the photos). The lotion does hydrate my skin pretty well. My skin feels really soft, supple and revitalized (as stated). The most significant change so far is my skin radiance; it is literally glowing from within! My pores have shrunken in size too. YES, I'm lovin' this lotion so far! A highly recommended product!

I've been using 'em religiously for more than a week. Using the Creamy Wash has a soothing (calming) effect on my angry skin. The breakouts have been irritating the hell out of me recently. I do hope that my complexion will return to its happy state soon. *sigh* Well, at least I could see improvements after using.

The Sealing Jell has a light-weight gel texture, which too has a calming effect. I apply this on my breakouts after using the Powder Lotion. Instead of squeezing out the acne/pimple, you can use this. And, it's okay to apply this before makeup.

It does take time for the skin to heal. Overtime, you'll definitely see improvements using 'em.

I'm about half-way thru' this Dr Jart+ Most Moist Water-Act Skin Mist (received in March this year).

When I just sprayed on the skin mist on my arm.

Dr Jart+ Most Moist Water-Act Skin Mist is my absolute must-have in such a hot and humid climate. It gives my skin an instant cooling sensation; so refreshing! Very much appreciated as the weather is absurdly hot nowadays! *grumpy face* I usually spray about 4 times (after cleansing), about 20-30cm from the face evenly with eyes closed (of coz). Then just "pat pat pat" on my face for the skin mist to be absorbed into skin.

What I love most about this skin mist is its 4 Free System (Preservative-Free, Alcohol-Free, Fragrance-Free & Pigment-Free). Sounds awesome yea? Safe to use on sensitive skin! Though it's Preservative-Free, a natural preservative is used instead. That is the lactobacillus peptide extracted from young radish kimchi. Interesting eh. Though it's Fragrance-Free, there's a refreshing fruity citrusy scent to it (which comes from the main ingredients). Should be the bergamot oil and/or berry cocktail (patented anti-oxidant material by Dr. Jart+) I guess.

All in all, it helps soothe my skin and doesn't give me that icky sticky feeling. My skin is well-hydrated; smooth and soft to touch. And, it preps the skin for the next skin care step, enabling a much better absorption. What's not to like?!

Say bye-bye to dehydrated skin! :D

Aqua Whitening Cream (with oil control)

My Thoughts:

I've been using the Aqua Whitening Cream for almost a week. Initially, I wasn't too fond of the cream upon 1st application. I felt that the white creamy texture felt kinda greasy on my face. However, the "greasy feeling" was gone after the cream gets absorbed into the skin. And in place, I could see a glowy sheen on my face (see photo above). The soothing green tea scent smells so good, a scent which I really like alot!

lt doesn't mattify my skin but oil control is decent. What I like is that it does keep my face hydrated and moisturized for hours. If you're using it in the day, be sure to use a sunblock after which, as it does not have SPF stated (only UV protection).

As for skin whitening, lightening of spots and acne scars.. I can't see much results. For now, I think it really does help in preventing the formation of pimples (at least for me)! Why do I say so? That's because I didn't see any pimples/acnes this time round before my "time-of-the-month" came. Those awful zits will appear always, without fail. I can see and feel that my face feels less oily than usual!

My Thoughts:

Nude Cover BB Cream has a runny texture which can be quite messy when squeezing out the product. The shade looks lil' ashy on my NC20/NW20 skin tone. It is not suitable for ALL skin tones, definitely. Ladies with really fair complexion will find the shade too dark for 'em.

It is easy to blend and helps even out my skin tone. The finish is indeed natural and flawless. It does conceal my flaws (redness, dark circles and spots) decently. I do not need to use a separate concealer. It has the same nice green tea scent as the Aqua Whitening Cream ♥

It doesn't give a matte finish but the oil control part was okay. I need to blot after 3-4 hours, which is normal for me. It feels pretty comfortable on the skin as well, without feeling greasy or whatsoever.

Here's my makeup look after 5 hours. Still look pretty fresh right? :D
