After Show Time, it's time for Delicious Color's - Mavala's 2012 summer collection of colorful pastel hues. I couldn't contain my excitement when I received this candied surprise from Mavala! Thanks~ :D

For my swatches, I apply the nail colors over a base coat then layer on a fast-dry top coat (I can never do without it!). These "candies" are well-pigmented, hence I find two coats to be enough for a nice opaque finish.

Ahh... I'm no expert in applying nail colors especially pastel ones in particular. However, they are easier to apply than I thought. These creamy nail colors contain super finely-milled shimmers, which are more visible upon closer scrutiny.

Honestly, I love all the six colors... My top pick is... pink orange! A color which is super rare in my stash, as I used to dislike it very-very much. Now that I'm older, I'm lovin' orange so much (same applies for yellow). I've no idea why (lol).

Hmm... Mavala nail colors are much underrated, in my opinion. If you've the chance to try 'em, you will definitely love 'em as much as I do.

I realized I haven't been playing with my makeup palettes though I'd bought so many... *facepalm*

Recently, I revisited Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box. I was using it consistently for these few weeks, creating different looks with this versatile palette alone.

Hmm... I think I need to must show some love to my other palettes soon!

I've been having this for one year plus I think... My sis has the same palette :D

These eyeshadows are swatched beautifully without UDPP.

They are a shimmery and glittery lot, especially Uzi and Midnight Cowboy Rides Again.

This is a recycled pic from my review on Skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream. I used the cream-colored base from Integrate Rainbow Grade Eyes BR701 as the base color. Then, I applied Flash on the eyelid, over K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyepencil. To make the eyes look even, I usually draw a thicker liner for my monolidded right eye. Curling the lashes and applying mascara is a must, to make the eyes look lifted, hence more even.

I wish my right eye becomes doublelidded soon! My left eye used to be monolidded... >.<

For this look, I used Grifter as the base color and Flash on the eyelid. I applied Milani Liquif'Eye Milani Liquif'Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil (Black) thickly for both eyes, slightly winged. That's my new HG black eyeliner, by the way. Better than MUFE and UD, in my opinion. The black is super duper intense and glides on oh-so-smoothly. Awesome stuff, if you don't already know. I saw this at John Little for $19.90, which is a total rip-off! I suggest you get it online for less than $10?

Hmm... cream-colored base from Integrate Rainbow Grade Eyes BR701 as the base color (again). Then I applied YDK on the eyelid, Twice Baked as the liner color. For the bottom lashline, I added a pop of color -- Flipside.

To define the eyes, I tightlined using K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyepencil.

My pretty in nude lips, using the new Mavala Lip Gloss 27 Litchi.

Twice Baked on the eyelid and Midnight Cowboy Rides Again on the eye contour area. I like this quick and easy look, took me less than 5 mins.

 

Okay, here comes the favorite look of the lot!

For this look, I used 6 colors - Flipside, Grifter, Uzi, Flash, Oil Slick & Kiddie Pool.

Fyi, this was my LOTD for the Maybelline event.

• Flipside on the outer eyelid
• Grifter on the eye contour area
• Uzi on the inner corner of eyes and inner bottom lashline
• Flash on the outer bottom lashline
• Oil Slick as the liner for the bottom lashline, winged out
• Kiddie Pool on the inner eyelid

 

A special mention on the lovely mascara combination I used -- Majolica Majorca Lash Bone Black Fiber + Fairy Drops Volume Burst Waterproof Mascara. Both holy grail of mine. I believe the photos are justifiable enough?

This has gotta be my favoritest in this glittery collection. Fyi, all were swatched on the same day except Sparkling Silver... 3 days later to be exact :D

 

Sparkling Bronze

green and bronze micro-glitters + bronze glitters + gold hexagon glitters

This is something unique in my nail polish stash, coz I don't usually fancy bronze colors. I like! Hmm... It doesn't photograph very well though >.<

 

For all swatches, I applied at least 3 coats each (with clear base and top coat).

Sparkling Gold, Sparkling Blue, Sparkling Bronze, Sparkling Red

As compared to the other colors, Sparkling Violet clearly looks more dispersed.

Sparkling Blue, Sparkling Bronze, Sparkling Red remained pretty intact with minimal tip wear (after 3 days).

I managed to swatch 'em at John Little (Marina Square). Apparently not all Watsons stock 'em. Well, soon I guess. And... I forget to swatch Fig Jam :/

Peach Parfait was the sold-out shade (at John Little). The Revlon promoter said that the stock will be replenished next week. Hmm... I'm still deciding on the color to get... Sophia's lip swatches are tempting me to get both Peach Parfait and Macaroon! Sugar Plum appeals to me too... >.<

I meant to swatch Revlon Lip Butters BUT... didn't get the chance to. The Revlon ladies were busy doing their display, stock, etc (at Watsons)... Well, I shall check 'em out tomorrow then.

Then, the ZA ladies were there too. There was a display stand for the new ZA Eyes Groovy & Cheeks Groovy, with just the tester. And so, I swatched away... discreetly.

The blushers look so pretty. Ahh.. I enjoy swatching 'em :D

01 Glowing Pink reminds me of NARS Orgasm. I like all the cheek colors, not so much for 05 June Bride.

The eyeshadow colors look really bright & pretty in the palette itself but not when swatched. Very sheer, in my opinion. I swatched at least 3-4 times for each color. They might work better with a primer?

I got this Too Faced Naked Eye (Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection) last year via ASOS.com. I wanted to get the Romantic palette but ended up getting this instead. There's the Smokey one, if you're not into neutral colors.

The 3 different looks - Day, Classic & Fashion.

"Hidden" just below the eyeshadows, there's this dual-ended sponge applicator/angled liner brush. Hmm... the quality of this feels rather cheap...

"In The Buff" - matte bone

Matte off-white.

"Birthday Suit"- sheer linen

Shimmery tan.

"Pink Cheeks" - barely pink

Shimmery pale pink.

For fairer skin tones, I think "Pink Cheeks" & "In The Buff" will just blend in with the skin color. Good or bad, that depends on individual.

"Pillow Talk" - heathered taupe

Shimmery light cool taupe.

"Like A Virgin" - matte graphite

Matte brownish taupe.

"Satin Sheets" - golden pink

Shimmery gold pink duochrome.

"Unmentionables" - stormy grey

Shimmery steel grey.

"Lap Dance" - violet stone

Shimmery taupe.

"Stiletto" - black velvet

Matte black.

The colors are subtle and very office-appropriate. If you love that "barely there" makeup look, this might be just the palette for you.

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm (Limited Edition) is now available in Singapore ($16.90 @ Watsons). When I googled online for the reviews/swatches, I then realized they ain't new products. In this post, I'll be sharing my thoughts on DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette from Beauty Bistro, and 100% Handmade Lashes (WC16) from Fleur Blossom.

 

DOT DOT Smoky Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette SGD$29.90

A mirrored compact kit with 6 ultra fine, reflective powder eyeshadow colours and 1 cream shade. This palette can easily take you from day-to-night with its wearable colors.

dark blue shimmer, silver grey shimmer, metallic light copper shimmer

(Note: The fallouts are due to my clumsy fingers.. =.=")

Comes with an eyeshadow brush and a sponge wand, which are pretty useful. The brush bristles are soft and non-scratchy. Doesn't shed easily.

pearl white shimmer, peppermint green shimmer, gold shimmer, deep chocolate brown (cream)

 

Swatch-Fest ♥

The reddish deep chocolate brown cream base (with bronze & gold micro-shimmers) can be layered on to get the desired intensity. The swatch shown in the image above is 3 layers. I will suggest using a powder eyeshadow over this cream base, to prevent smudges and creases.

The pearl white shimmer looks more like a cream color in the pan. When swatched, it is a true pearlescent white (perfect for highlighting).

This peppermint green shimmer is packed with peppermint green & grey micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

The gold shimmer feels more gritty; more prone to fall-outs. It has pink micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

The dark blue shimmer is the most pigmented of the lot, packed with blue & purple micro-shimmers, silver micro-glitter bits. My favorite ♥

The silver grey shimmer has purple & peppermint green micro-shimmers, silver micro-glitter bits.

The metallic light copper shimmer has pink micro-shimmers, silver & gold micro-glitter bits.

My face with Laneige Snow Crystal Dual Foundation SPF22PA+ in Deep Beige 33.

Lioele Real Crystal Twin Cake No.2 is used lightly to set the foundation.

• Fill brows with Bébé Poshé Sexy Brow Shaper.
• Apply Too-Faced Shadow Insurance prior eyeshadow application.
• Apply pearl white shimmer onto 1/2 of the inner upper eyelid area, then layer metallic light copper shimmer all over the eyelid area.
• Dust some gold shimmer onto the middle part of upper eyelid area for more dimension.
• Use pearl white shimmer to highlight brow bone, inner corner of eye & dust some onto 1/3 of the inner lower lashline.
• Apply peppermint green shimmer onto 2/3 of the outer lower lashline.
• Line the upper lashline thickly with a droopy winged look, using K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner (Black).
• Using the same eyeliner, draw "lashes" on the lower lashline.
• Layer dark blue shimmer over peppermint green shimmer shade.

To warm up my complexion, I brush on only the orange & brown shades from Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact 10 Sweet Biscuit.

On my lips - Bihada Ichizoku Gorgeous Lip Gloss (Pearl Beige).

The eyeshadows are well-pigmented, and the color stays true and intense all day long. Personally, I like that they aren't crazily shimmery or glittery; very wearable even in the day. I might do a smoky LOTD using this palette. Shall see how it goes (:

The lash bone is clear and thin. It doesn't lose its shape after removing it (gently) from the tray packaging. Some might find the length to be kinda long (10mm). Personally, I think the length is okay for me.

Really easy to apply, especially for someone like me who apply fake lashes once in a blue moon AND simply take forever to get the positioning right.

The lashes feel incredibly soft & comfy. I love how the lashes look on me - SUPER DOLLY!

(PS: I highly recommend y'all to get the Marie Beauty Clear Eye Cream (lash glue) as well. Pretty good in my opinion.)

I don't have a penchant for nail polishes. Well, I do like to paint my nails once in a while.

And, here's the unforeseen haul.

I got the Nubar 2010 for $13 (I think) online. Contains reddish orange, gold, golden green duochrome glitter flakies (in various sizes) suspended in the clear thick base. Looks so pretty right?

Can be worn alone, but it shows up better on colored bases. Easy to use, and applies very smoothly.

 

Well, $20 for a (SpaRitual) nail polish is not exactly cheap. I can easily get a OPI or China Glaze for <$10 online.

Shooting Star - a reddish purple color, packed with gold micro-shimmers & pink micro-glitter bits. Part of the Holiday 2011 Twinkle Collection.

2 coats for an opaque finish.

Sacred Ground - a sophisticated dark grey color, packed with green/silver micro-shimmers & gold/purple micro-glitter bits. It was an exceptionally beautiful color, which reminds me of Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in Illusoire.

2 coats for an opaque finish.

Optical Illusion - a moss green color, packed with green and gold micro-glitter bits. I had problem applying this, which leaves me wondering if I'd gotten a defective one. Oh well.

2-3 coats for an opaque finish.

Clarity - a clear-base, packed with silver and pink micro-glitter bits. It was part of the giveaway I won via Joey'space.

3-4 coats for an opaque finish.

The final touch will be Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
